Greenfield Savings Bank to Offer a ShredFest Event Sept. 12 to Help Area Residents Protect Against Identity Theft and Fraud

GREENFIELD—Greenfield Savings Bank (GSB) will offer a ShredFest event on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 12:30 to 3 p.m.to help area residents protect against identity theft and fraud.
ShredFest will take place at GSB’s Easthampton Branch, next to Starbucks in Easthampton, at 1 Sierra Vista Boulevard.
Area residents may bring up to three shopping bags of documents per car, and Infoshred will be on site to securely destroy and recycle them. There is no cost, and those who take part do not need to be customers of Greenfield Savings Bank.
In 2025, Infoshred shredded and recycled 4,824 tons of paper that was turned into tissue paper, paper towels and dental bibs.
The ShredFest is a drive-through event, and bank leaders ask that participants remain in their vehicles throughout the visit. GSB team members will assist in removing bags from vehicles for safety and to keep the line moving.
The bank also requests that participants adhere to the 12:30 p.m. start time.
“Paper documents are a tool for identity thieves. They use everyday mail, old tax returns and financial statements to commit fraud,” said President and CEO Peter Albero. “We hope our ShredFest will give our neighbors a convenient, proactive and earth-friendly way to clear clutter and safeguard family assets.”
Greenfield Savings Bank’s Easthampton location opened in June and serves as the bank’s southern headquarters, strengthening its presence and long-term commitment to the community.
Headed up by Branch Manager Melvin Coleman, the headquarters is the bank’s ninth location and offers personal and business banking, along with wealth management and trust services, residential and commercial lending and cash management.
